Greeley ends its holiday 'Lights the Night Parade'

The Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce said it will hold a new lights experience at Island Grove Regional Park this year.

GREELEY, Colo. — The Greeley Lights the Night Parade will not be held this year as the city transitions to a new holiday experience.

The Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce said instead of its annual holiday parade, it will host the Holiday Lane Drive experience at Island Grove Regional Park over two nights.

The Holiday Lane Drive experience will take place Sunday, Dec. 3, and Saturday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., with holiday lights displayed in a drive-through setting.

"This new experience will offer an approachable way for our community to enjoy a cherished annual holiday event, reach more community members and even expand the experience as Greeley’s residents and businesses will have a chance to showcase their holiday spirit," Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce said in a statement.

"This will also provide an opportunity to showcase one of Greeley’s largest assets, Island Grove Regional Park."

The drive-through experience at the park will cost $5 per car or $10 for a car with 10 or more seats.

"Instead of the parade going down the street, our residents and visitors will drive by the displays and start a new Greeley holiday tradition from the comfort of their own cars!" Greeley Area Chamber of Commerce said.
